Five-Slot Watch Box - Purple Elm Wood with Glass Skylight Lid

A watch left in a drawer gets scratched by the other things in the drawer. Five cushions and a glass lid solve that in one object.

What it is made of

Purple elm outside, high-density fibreboard within, and a glass skylight so the whole tray reads without opening it. The corners are falcon-and-beam joined rather than glued butt joints.

How it fits

Five pillows, each sized to hold a watch open rather than folded, so the strap is not stressed while it sits.

Where it earns its place

• Glass lid means you choose without opening
• Elm rather than veneer over particle board
• Joinery that holds when the box is moved
• Five is the number most collections actually reach
